The Deputy High Commissioner was on an official visit to Vijayawada to meet the Hon. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and came down to Brandix India Apparel City, Visakhapatnam, on the invitation of Mr Ashroff Omar, Group CEO of Brandix.
The Deputy High Commissioner toured the Brandix Park and termed it as a great success story and one of the largest Foreign Direct Investments in India by Sri Lanka.
He appreciated the world class infrastructure instituted to facilitate the textile and apparel exports. The Deputy High Commissioner keenly observed the state-of-the-art Water Treatment and Effluent Treatment Plants inside the Park and appreciated the processes being followed to support the manufacturing units and also their dedication in complying with the international standards.
On visiting the fabric, garment manufacturing and accessary manufacturing units inside the Park, Dr. Venkateshwaran was overwhelmed at the organized assembly line production processes and the design and quality of the finished products. He appreciated Brandix for their excellent training and upskilling of the large rural women workforce, in manufacturing products for international brands and labels. He was pleased to learn that Brandix alongside being the largest textile park operational in the country was also the largest employer of women workforce with over 20,000 total employment at a single location.
